Understand Talent Identity Verification
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Identity Verification (IDV) confirms that talent on Lifted are who they claim to be. It helps prevent fraud and impersonation, protects both talent and clients, and supports trust, safety, and compliance across the platform.
When Identity Verification Is Required
Identity Verification is typically required as part of the onboarding workflow before a talent can begin work.
Depending on the engagement and your organization's onboarding workflow, verification may also be required earlier to support compliance or other company requirements.
Identity Verification is generally completed only once. If a talent has previously completed IDV, or the requirement was waived because they migrated to Lifted with an active contract, this stage is automatically skipped.
How Identity Verification Works
When Identity Verification is required:
The talent receives an email and/or in-product prompt to complete verification.
The talent completes the verification through Lifted's identity verification provider.
Verification results are typically returned within a few minutes.
What Happens if Verification Cannot Be Completed?
If Identity Verification cannot be completed successfully:
The onboarding workflow cannot continue.
The talent cannot begin work until verification is successfully completed.
Both you and the talent may receive email notifications if additional action is required.
